Jeju Soesokkak Trip! Kids Enjoyed the Pool While We Had a Coffee Date

Hello everyone~~!!! Today, I’m here to share our Soesokkak trip from our Jeju family vacation! 🎉🎉

For this trip, we wanted something that would be fun for the kids but also relaxing for us parents.
That’s how we decided to visit Soesokkak, one of Jeju’s must-visit spots!! But guess what??
The kids were way more excited about the pension’s swimming pool than Soesokkak… so in the end, they stayed at the pool, and my husband and I went off to enjoy coffee and a nice walk at Soesokkak! ㅋㅋㅋ It was a win-win!!!

Our original plan was to go to Soesokkak in the morning for a transparent kayak ride + a scenic walk. But from the moment they woke up, the kids were chanting “Swimming pool! Swimming pool!” nonstop ㅋㅋㅋ. So we quickly changed our plan!! The kids would stay at the pension pool, and we would head to Soesokkak for a peaceful morning!

Honestly, I couldn’t blame them. The pension’s swimming pool was so nice!!! The water was crystal clear, the air was fresh, and the place was perfect for taking Insta-worthy photos!!

Our eldest son jumped straight into the water, while our two younger daughters grabbed their floaties and started splashing around. They were having so much fun that we just couldn’t say no.

So, we told them, “Have fun! Mommy and Daddy are going to Soesokkak for a bit!” and slipped away ㅋㅋㅋ. The pension owner was there too, so we knew they were in good hands!

Right next to Soesokkak, we found a beautiful café with an amazing view!!! I forgot the exact name, but it was something like “Soesokkak Café” (very straightforward ㅋㅋㅋ). There was no way we could skip it!

We ordered two iced Americanos and grabbed a window seat with a perfect view. And oh my gosh… THIS. WAS. HEAVEN.

Right in front of us was the emerald-green river, surrounded by lush green forests. The gentle breeze made it even more perfect.

My husband and I just sat there, sipping our coffee and saying, “Wow… this is amazing…” over and over again. It was so peaceful, especially without the kids ㅋㅋㅋ.

It took us about 2–3minutes by car from the pension to Soesokkak, and wow… the scenery was unbelievable!!!

What is Soesokkak exactly~~~?? Let me explain!! It’s a beautiful spot where ㅗcrystal-clear waters meet dramatic black lava rock cliffs, creating a breathtaking hidden gem in Jeju. The name is actually from Jeju’s local dialect!
• “Soe” means pond
• “Sokkak” means below

So basically, it translates to “the pond below.” But trust me, this is no ordinary pond—it’s a jaw-dropping natural wonder!!!

Most people visit Soesokkak for the famous transparent kayak experience, but we decided to take a relaxing walk and enjoy coffee instead. (Because we’re the type who prefer chilling over extreme activities ㅋㅋㅋ.)

After finishing our coffee, we went for a relaxing walk around Soesokkak. The walking trails were very well-maintained, making it super easy to enjoy a comfortable stroll! (Don’t worry, it’s not a hike! No sweating involved! ㅋㅋㅋ)

The water was so unbelievably clear that we could see all the way to the bottom!! The natural scenery was just too stunning for words.

Along the way, we found cute stone bridges and perfect photo spots, so we took a bunch of selfies together! ㅋㅋㅋ My husband even said, “It would’ve been nice to take a family photo here!” But… yeah, our kids were too busy swimming back at the pension ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.

There were also small wooden rest areas, where we just sat down and enjoyed the sound of the water and birds. THIS was the ultimate healing moment!!!

If you’re visiting Jeju, you absolutely have to check out Soesokkak!!! Especially if you love beautiful nature, peaceful walks, and a good cup of coffee with a view.

✅ The walking trails are easy and enjoyable for all ages.

Next time we visit Jeju, we’ll definitely bring the kids here for a kayak ride! But honestly, it was great to have some parent-only chill time this time around.
